Welcome to Pennan

The pictureque village of Pennan is situated on the seafront at the bottom of cliffs midway between Banff and Fraserburgh in North East Aberdeenshire

The red telephone box, used in the film 'Local Hero' starring Burt Lancaster, still remains and has become quite a tourist attraction

Pennan, surrounded by open countryside, nestles beneath cliffs with the most beautiful sea views. Seals and dolphins can often be spotted in the sea which is also popular for surfing.

A birdwarchers haven, the cliffs are full of many seabirds such as gannets, fulmars, guillemots etc, and as such are now looked after by the RSPB

Pennan is an ideal base for golfers being surrounded by Aberdeenshire's many attractive golf courses and is also within easy reach of the newly opened Myrus driving range in Macduff, which also has a rather nice cafe attached
